Iranian Police Seized 82 Illicit Firearms, 200 Grenades

TEHRAN, May 31 (NNN-TASNIM) – The Iranian police seized 82 illicit firearms and 200 rocket propelled grenades, in the south-eastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, over the past 48 hours.

The weapons and ammunition were seized in a set of anti-crime operations, codenamed Ra’ad-2, Doostali Jalilian, the provincial police chief, told reporters in the province, yesterday.

During the operations, 16 criminal gangs were busted, and 750 criminals arrested, including “armed thieves, thugs and disruptors of public order and security,” he said.

The police also seized over a tonne of narcotics and arrested 60 drug traffickers, Jalilian added.– NNN-TASNIM
