Venezuela seized more than three million illicit substances in 2025

CARACAS, June 28 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — A total of 3,900,000 doses of illicit substances were seized in Venezuela so far this year, a figure that exceeds what was achieved in 2024, official sources reported today.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace stated in a statement, which quotes the National Anti-Drug Superintendent, Major-General Danny Ferrer, that the result was due to the work of the different state security agencies in the fight against crime.

At the central event on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Ferrer pointed out that going beyond what was achieved last year is very easy and expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to it, who saved “families from this terrible drama”.

The Major General stressed that, in Venezuela, legalization of any psychoactive substance will never be part of our idiosyncrasy “.

He pointed out that when the police or any security body makes a seizure, it is the Venezuelan State who acts through the fusion of people, military and police, and works “on the development of a single line and a single objective: the fight against this crime”.

Ferrer expressed that, with the perfect fusion of people, military and police, the Bolivarian government “advances continuously and decisively in the elaboration and development of strategies”.

He said that these actions allowed for targeted attacks on the Organized Crime Structured Groups and, in particular, those engaged in trafficking these illicit substances. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
