Ethiopia and Italy sign partner agreement in agriculture

ADDIS ABABA, July 30 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The governments of Ethiopia and Italy signed a partnership agreement in the agricultural sector, on the sidelines of the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4).

Signed by Ethiopian Agriculture Minister Girma Amente and his Italian counterpart Francesco Lollobrigida, the agreement aims to further enhance bilateral cooperation and focus on innovation of the value chain of coffee development.

Amente stated during the signing ceremony that the step offers a significant opportunity to use Rome’s enormous potential among European nations in modernizing the agricultural sector.

Lollobrigida, in turn, stated that technology transfer is also proposed.

The 2nd UNFSS+4 is being held in Addis Ababa from July 27 to 29, co-sponsored by the Government of Ethiopia and Italy to promote actions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
