DHAKA, Jul 30 (NNN-BSS) – More than 10,000 cases of dengue were reported in Bangladesh this month, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to over 20,000, the Ministry of Health said, yesterday.
A total of 393 new cases were reported in 24 hours, till 8:00 a.m. local time yesterday.
In the same period, one person died due to the mosquito-borne disease, raising the death toll to 37, so far, this month.
Bangladesh witnessed a significant spike in dengue cases in July, totalling 20,316 cases and 79 deaths, so far this year.
The Jun-Sept monsoon period is the season of dengue fever in Bangladesh.– NNN-BSS
