
LUWERO (Uganda), July 13 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Police in Luwero District are investigating a kidnapping case involving two Pakistani nationals who were abducted in broad daylight and later rescued in Wakiso District.
According to ASP Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, the incident occurred on Thursday, at around 12:53pm in Mabanda Village, Luwero Town Council.
Four unidentified men in a white Toyota Premio allegedly abducted Abaasi Ali and Rashid Ahmed, employees of a Pakistani investor operating in Luwero.
The suspects demanded a Shs20 million ransom from the investor. However, thanks to a swift police response following a tip-off, an elite team from the regional Flying Squad was deployed, and the victims were rescued in Matuga, Wakiso District.
Two suspects were arrested, while the others escaped. A case of alleged kidnapping was registered, and investigations are ongoing. Police are searching for the remaining suspects. — NNN-AGENCIES
