Pakistan’s Transport Service Exports Jump 9.91 Percent In Seven Months Of FY 23

ISLAMABAD, Mar 28 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s transport services exports, increased 9.91 percent in the first seven months of the current fiscal year 2022-2023, when compared to the same period of the last fiscal year, according to figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), yesterday.

Pakistan earned 476.84 million U.S. dollars, by providing different transport services in various countries, during the Jul-Jan period of the ongoing fiscal year, as against the earnings of 433.86 million dollars, during the same months of fiscal year 2021-2022, the PBS figures showed.

Among the transport services, the exports of air transport rose from 354.19 million dollars, during the Jul-Jan period of the last fiscal year, to 366.39 million dollars during the same period of the current fiscal year, showing an increase of 3.44 percent, the PBS said.

Similarly, the exports of sea transport services jumped 49.11 percent, going up from 66.02 million dollars during the last fiscal year, to 98.44 million dollars during the Jul-Jan period of the ongoing fiscal year, it added.

However, the exports of road transport services, during the months under review, witnessed a decline of 17.23 percent, by going down from 9.46 million dollars to 7.83 million dollars, during fiscal year 2023.

The exports of postal and courier services, also declined by 0.24 percent from 4.19 million dollars to 4.18 million dollars, the PBS data showed.– NNN-APP
