France Offers 108 Million USD In Soft Loan To Jordan

AMMAN, Jordan, June 25 (NNN-PETRA) – The French Agency for Development (AFD), on Monday, signed a loan agreement of 95 million euros (108.3 million U.S. dollars) with Jordan.

The loan is planned to support Jordan’s state budget and the country’s municipalities, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and State Minister for Economic Affairs, Mohamad Al-Ississ, said in a statement.

The minister voiced appreciation for the French government’s support to the kingdom’s vital sectors, in light of the repercussions stemming from the Syrian crisis.

France has been supporting Jordan since 2003, to improve troubled socioeconomic conditions, triggered by international and regional challenges, according to the statement.– NNN-PETRA
