African Market Only Accounts For 2.5 Percent Of Tunisian Exports: Employers’ Union

TUNISIA, May 29 (NNN-TAP) – Only 2.5 percent of Tunisia’s exports go to the African market, it was reported yesterday, citing the head of a Tunisian employers’ union.

Tarak Cherif, president of the Confederation of Citizen Enterprises of Tunisia, proposed to diversify the markets, by mobilising financing for companies, to facilitate their access and positioning on the African continent.

“We must also think about encouraging the establishment of Tunisian banks in these countries, and finding quick solutions to the problem of the absence of diplomatic representations in several countries on the continent,” Cherif said.

“Among the solid foundations that must be put in place, to enhance trade with Africa, is to provide logistical means for export, especially sea and air transport,” he added.– NNN-TAP
