KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (NNN- BERNAMA) – The task force tracking the radioactive output of the Lynas Advanced Material Plant is identifying international instruments for the process of sending water leached purification residue (WLP) back to Australia, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.
Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Deputy Minister, Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis, said the instruments will take into account all aspects of the law and security to ensure the safety of the public and environment.
“The Minister (Yeo Bee Yin) wrote to her counterpart in Australia on Feb 26 to inform her of the cooperation facilitating the removal of WLP from Malaysia to Australia,” she said.
