Algiers’ Intra-African Trade Fair attracts over 35,000 visitors

ALGIERS, Sept 5 (NNN-DAILYNEWS) — HEADS of state, business people and investors, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across Africa and around the world are gathering in Algeria for the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025), which is expected to attract over 35,000 visitors.

The President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is scheduled to officially open the trade fair, which is organized by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The seven-day event begins Sept 4, and will run until Sept 10 in the Algerian capital, Algiers. Delegates from 140 countries, including heads of state and government, have already arrived for the event.

Some of the prominent leaders attending and expected to participate in the opening ceremony include former Nigerian President and Chairman of the IATF Advisory Council, Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, and the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Ghali, among others.

Trade deals worth over 44bn US dollars are expected to be signed during the event.

This year’s edition will feature a special International Diaspora Day to celebrate the continent’s connection with its diaspora, the Algeria Investment Forum, an Innovation and African Industries Day, and exhibitions focused on African automotive, technology, agriculture, and finance sectors. — NNN-DAILYNEWS
