TOKYO (Japan), Aug 23 (NNN-DAILYNEWS) — THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has extended an invitation to Japanese investors to explore major investment opportunities in Tanzania through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, particularly in key development sectors such as agriculture, industrial production, mining, equipment technology, and infrastructure.
Speaking during his visit to Japan, Kombo invited while meeting with the Japan Association for Infrastructure Development (JAIDA), which represents over 190 companies. He also held discussions with the Co-Chairs of the Africa Committee of the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations (KEINDAREN), which comprises more than 1,500 companies.
In his engagements, he emphasized Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation with Japan, stating that such collaboration symbolizes the broader development partnership between Japan and Africa.
He highlighted Tanzania’s readiness to host large-scale investments, especially in flagship infrastructure projects such as the expansion of the Dar es Salaam Port and phases six and seven of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project.
The Minister also underlined the importance of developing Tanzania’s human capital through educational and professional cooperation, as well as the exchange of technology, skills, and expertise in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and infrastructure.
For their part, the Japanese investors expressed strong interest in deepening their engagement with Tanzania and pledged to capitalize on the available opportunities for mutual benefit through PPP initiatives. — NNN-DAILYNEWS
