
NAIROBI, July 12 (NNN-KBC) — Kenya and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic cooperation through a strategic partnership focused on trade, infrastructure, and agriculture.
In a high-level bilateral engagement, Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh Paul hosted a visiting Chinese delegation to explore investment opportunities that leverage Kenya’s position as the gateway to the East African Community and its expanding agricultural potential.
The meeting emphasized Kenya’s vision for modernizing agriculture and promoting food security through technology and innovation.
Dr. Ronoh outlined prospects for collaboration in bio-organic fertilizer production, agro-processing facilities, specialty tea ventures, and digital agriculture solutions. A proposal was tabled to establish an agricultural machinery assembly hub in Kenya, aimed at serving the broader EAC region and enhancing logistical efficiency.
Key opportunities were also highlighted in value addition for crops like coffee, macadamia nuts, and soybeans.
In closing, Chinese stakeholders received an official invitation to Kenya’s Agricultural Investment Conference slated for October 2025, a landmark platform to strengthen partnerships and drive agritech transformation.
