SANTIAGO DE CHILE, June 14 (NNN-Prensa Latina) – Amid a too complicated economic and social situation, President Sebastián Piñera has made this Thursday the second cabinet change since the beginning of the current administration in March 2018.

The changes are as follows: Roberto Ampuero, minister of Foreign Affairs, replaced by former Minister of Justice Teodoro Rivera; and the Minister of Economy, José Ramón Valente, whose post will now be occupied by present Minister of Public Works, Juan Andrés Fontaine.

The Minister of Social Development, Alfredo Moreno, was replaced by the current head of the Development Corporation (CORFO), Sebastián Sichel, while Moreno will serve as Minister of Public Works.

Regarding the Ministry of Health, Emilio Santelices was replaced by Jaime Mañalich.

Likewise, Juan Carlos Jobet, who was minister of Labor during Piñera´s first administration, will now occupy the Ministry of Energy.

According to analysts, some very criticized headlines, such as the Minister of Education, Marcela Cubillos, remained in that body, while the Interior Minister, Andrés Chadwick, of whom broad sectors of the country have requested his resignation, cannot be apparently removed from his post.

Rumors of changes in the cabinet had been going up for days before an increasingly complicated situation for the government, with a sharp drop in the Piñera approval, who only reaches 25 percent.
