Road Accident Claimed 24 Lives In Afghanistan

SARI PUL, Afghanistan, Jun 8 (NNN-ANA) – A total of 24 commuters were killed and another injured, as a mini-bus plunged into a ravine, in Afghanistan’s northern Sari Pul province, yesterday, provincial police spokesman, Din Mohammad Nazari, said today.

The deadly accident took place on Wednesday evening, in Sayad district, due to reckless driving. The victims included 12 women, eight children and four men, the official said, adding that, only a woman survived, but badly injured.

This is the second road accident in war-torn Afghanistan on a single day yesterday.

Earlier yesterday morning, a road accident in the central Bamyan province left 14 commuters injured.
