Six Youths Drowned In River In Eastern India

NEW DELHI, Nov 7 (NNN-PTI) – Six youths died by drowning in a river, in India’s eastern state of Jharkhand, yesterday, confirmed the local police.

The incident occurred in the state’s Dhanbad district. While the dead bodies of four youths were recovered, a search operation was underway to find the remaining two.

The youths had visited the river Damodar, to take a holy dip on the occasion of the religious festival, Kartik Purnima. They were swept away by a strong water current in the river, said the police.– NNN-PTI
