Elton John To Start Concert Tour In New Zealand

WELLINGTON, Jan 23 (NNN-XINHUA) – British singer, Elton John, will hold his first of three concerts in New Zealand’s two major cities tomorrow, as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.

John will perform tomorrow at Orangetheory Stadium, Christchurch, and another two rescheduled dates at Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium on Jan 27 and 28.

“It’s a fond farewell to a nation he first stepped foot in, five decades ago,” organisers said.

John added a new and final “encore” performance for Christchurch, which will be his first show in the city, in over three decades, for a final goodbye, organisers said.

John’s 50-year singing career redefined the cultural landscape and saw more than 300 million albums sold. His Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, starting in Sept, 2018, was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.– NNN-XINHUA
