Myanmar Reports 4,713 New COVID-19 Cases, 312 More Deaths

YANGON, Aug 4 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar reported 4,713 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the tally in the country to 311,067, according to a release from the Ministry of Health.

The death toll has reached 10,373, after 312 more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, the release said.

According to the ministry’s figures, a total of 220,887 patients have been discharged from hospitals, and over 3.19 million samples have been tested for COVID-19, so far.

Meanwhile, the ministry yesterday imposed a stay-at-home order, which will be in effect today, in two more townships, one each in Mandalay region and Mon state, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

As part of measures to cut the chain of COVID-19 infections, the ministry imposed the stay-at-home order in 110 townships across the country, so far.

Myanmar detected its first two positive cases of COVID-19 on Mar 23, last year.– NNN-MNA
