Pakistan Reports 4,858 New COVID-19 Cases

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan yesterday reported 4,858 new COVID-19 cases, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said today.

The NCOC said that the country’s number of overall confirmed cases had risen to 1,039,695, including 943,020 recoveries.

The number of active cases has risen to 73,213, who are under treatment across the country, including 3,441 patients in critical condition.

According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 40 people yesterday, bringing the overall death toll to 23,462.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region in the country, with 385,414 infections, followed by eastern Punjab, which has reported 357,735 cases.

The municipal government of the capital, Islamabad, sealed 27 streets in different residential sectors of the city yesterday, after new COVID-19 cases were reported.– NNN-APP
