Bangladesh’s Daily COVID-19 Death Toll Surpasses 100 For The First Time

DHAKA, Apr 17 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh recorded a total of 101 deaths from COVID-19 yesterday, according to the country’s Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

It is the first time that more than 100 daily deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in the country, bringing the death toll to 10,182.

DGHS also reported 4,417 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 yesterday, raising its total tally to 711,779.

The official data showed that 18,906 samples were tested in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh.

The total number of recovered patients rose to 602,908, including 5,694 new recoveries reported yesterday, said the DGHS.

According to the data, the COVID-19 fatality rate in Bangladesh is currently 1.43 percent and the recovery rate is 84.70 percent.

Bangladesh recorded the highest daily new cases of 7,626 on Apr 7.– NNN-BSS
