S. Korea Reports 473 More Covid-19 Cases, 105,752 In Total

SEOUL, Apr 5 (NNN-YONHAP) – South Korea reported 473 more cases of COVID-19 as of last night, compared to 24 hours ago, raising the total number of infections to 105,752.

The daily caseload was down from 543 in the previous day, falling below 500 in six days, amid fewer virus tests over the weekend.

The daily number of infections hovered in triple digits since Nov 8, owing to small cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding Gyeonggi province, as well as imported cases.

Of the new cases, 149 were Seoul residents and 108 were people residing in Gyeonggi province.

Twenty-four cases were imported from overseas, lifting the combined figure to 7,703.

Four more deaths were confirmed, raising the death toll to 1,748. The total fatality rate stood at 1.65 percent.

A total of 311 more patients were discharged from quarantine, after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 96,900. The total recovery rate was 91.63 percent.

The country tested more than 7.86 million people, among whom 7,682,571 tested negative for the virus and 80,497 are being checked.

Since the mass vaccination was launched on Feb 26, the country has administered COVID-19 vaccines to a total of 962,730, with 27,364 fully vaccinated.– NNN-YONHAP
