Application for Japan’s Young Leaders’ scholarship programme open till Dec 18

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarships for the Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) is now open for application until Dec 18.  

In a statement today, the Japan Information Service, located in the Embassy of Japan here, called on Malaysians wishing to pursue their Master’s degree courses in Japan to apply for the scholarship.

During the term of study, a monthly allowance of approximately 242,000 yen (subject to change) will be given to the students, the statement said.

“Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at the universities will be exempted. A round-trip plane ticket is also provided.” s

Five courses will be offered under the programme, including Business Administration at Hitotsubashi University;  Law at Kyushu University, Public Administration, Public Policy at the School of Government Course, and at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Healthcare Administration at Nagoya University.

The duration of the courses, to be in English, will be principally one year from Oct 2021 to Sept 2022, except for the business administration course which will be from Sept 2021 to Aug 2022.

To qualify, applicants must be a Malaysian citizen possessing a bachelor degree; and for the business administration course, applicants must  be below 40 years old as of Sept 1 of 2021; have good command of English language and at least three years of working experience.
