Malaysia sees 799 new COVID-19 cases

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 30 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Malaysia today recorded 799 new Covid-19 cases with 636 or 79.6 percent of the cases coming from Sabah, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya that have been placed under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abduallah said 466 cases were from Sabah while Selangor had 150 cases, Kuala Lumpur 19 cases and Putrajaya one case.

Labuan recorded 65 cases, Pulau Pinang 35, Negeri Sembilan 23, Sarawak 16, Perak 10, Johor nine and Kedah five.

He said there were 491 recoveries reported today, bringing the cumulative number of cases recovered to 20,248, which is 65.6 per cent of the total.

“The total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported in Malaysia (so far) is 30,889, while the number of active cases with infectivity is 10,392 cases,” he said during his press conference on COVID-19 here today.
