50 Kg Of ICE Seized In Myanmar’s Eastern State

YANGON, Oct 21 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar authorities seized 50 kg of methamphetamine (ICE) in eastern Shan state, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the anti-narcotic police made a seizure in Tachileik township on Monday.

Some 50 kg of methamphetamine (ICE) worth one billion kyats (769,230 U.S. dollars) were seized from four cars along with five suspects.

The township police filed a case against the suspects and further investigation was underway as per the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the committee said.

According to a statement by the President’s Office on Monday, a total of 1,377 drug-related cases have been registered across Myanmar, while 2,101 people have been charged in connection with the cases, as of Oct 17 this year.– NNN-MNA
