Indonesia sees 4,411 new COVID-19 cases

JAKARTA, Oct 16 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Indonesia has recorded 4,411 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall total in the republic to 349,160 cases.

Based on data posted on the official Twitter site of Indonesia’s National Agency for Disaster Management @BNPB_Indonesia today, there are 154,926 more patients being monitored for the virus.

From 12 noon yesterday to noon today, 112 more deaths occurred taking the cumulative death toll to 12, 268 people.

The province of Jakarta, which has the highest infections in the republic with 91,337 cases, rose by another 1,071 cases.

East Java recorded the highest COVID-19 fatalities with 3,497 cases followed by Jakarta (1,970), Central Java (1,560) and the remaining deaths in other provinces.
