Turkey Takes Some 2,500 People Under Mandatory Self-Isolation: Official

ANKARA, Oct 3 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Nearly 2,500 people, including those who violated COVID-19 isolation rules and who were not able to properly self-isolate, are under mandatory quarantine across Turkey.

“As of Oct 1, a total of 2,474 people are under mandatory self-isolation in dormitories and hostels across the country,” Turkish Interior Ministry Spokesperson, Ismail Catakli, told reporters.

Turkey’s COVID-19 patients increased by 1,442 on Friday, to a total of 321,512, the Turkish Health Ministry announced.

Meanwhile, 63 people died in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,325, according to data shared by the ministry.

A total of 1,506 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, raising the total recoveries to 282,657, since the outbreak.

The rate of pneumonia in COVID-19 patients is 6.4 percent and the number of seriously ill patients is 1,455.

Turkish health professionals conducted 114,857 tests in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall number of tests to 10,608,664.
