Indonesia records 3,141 new COVID-19 cases, 118 deaths

JAKARTA, Sept 14 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Indonesia recorded 3,141 positive COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative figure for the republic to 221,523.

According to the government website on COVID-19, www.covid19.go.id, 118 fatalities were also reported between noon yesterday and noon today, raising the death toll to 8,841.

It said 98,842 patients were still under surveillance for the virus.

Jakarta province, which has again come under Big-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) for two weeks beginning today, has the highest number of positive cases at 55,099, with an increase of 879 new cases.

Jawa Timur has the highest death toll at 2,800, followed by Jakarta (1,418), Jawa Tengah (1,153), Kalimantan Selatan (389), Sulawesi Selatan (383) and other provinces.
