Sembcorp Commissions Three Wind Projects With 800 MW Capacity In India

NEW DELHI, July 30 (NNN-UNI) – Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL), owned by Singapore-based energy and infrastructure group, Sembcorp Industries, on Wednesday, announced the completion of its latest 800 MW wind power projects in India.

“Sembcorp becomes the first independent power producer to fully commission its projects, awarded in the first three wind auctions held by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

Together, these assets provide enough clean energy to power more than 600,000 homes and avoid over two million tonnes per annum of carbon dioxide emissions,” a statement issued by India’s federal ministry of power, said.

Wednesday’s commissioning of the three projects has brought India’s renewable energy capacity to 1,730 MW.– NNN-UNI
