COVID-19 Cases Exceed 50,000 In Oman

MUSCAT, July 9 (NNN-ONA) – Oman announced on Wednesday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the country exceeded 50,000, including over 32,000 recovered cases.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement that, 1,210 COVID-19 positive cases were recorded, including 271 non-Omanis, bringing the total number in the country to 50,207.

Nine new fatalities from the COVID-19 were reported, bringing the death toll to 233. The tally of recovered cases rose by 1,005 to 32,005, the statement added.

The Omani government announced on Wednesday the suspension of some taxes and other installments due on companies.

“These decisions come within the framework of providing a package of facilities and incentives for companies, to reduce the economic effects of COVID-19,” it said.– NNN-ONA
