Cambodian, Thai Defence Ministers To Discuss Cooperation Along Border

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, Feb 12 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodian Defence Minister, Gen. Tea Banh, will meet with his Thai counterpart, Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon, this week, to discuss cooperation along their border, according to a defence ministry statement.

The two ministers will meet at the 14th General Border Committee Meeting, to be held on Wednesday and Thursday in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, the statement said.

“Both sides will hold talks, focusing mainly on strengthening and enhancing good ties and cooperation between the two countries’ armies, especially in maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development along the border,” it said.

The statement added that, the annual meeting would also be a good opportunity for the two ministers to work together, to resolve challenging issues along the border, for the interests of the two countries and peoples.

Cambodia shares more than 800 km of border with Thailand, to the north and west.– NNN-AKP
