409 illegal Indonesian immigrants deported from Sabah

TAWAU,  June 30  (NNN-BERNAMA) — A total of 409 illegal Indonesian immigrants were deported today via sea route from the Tawau Port here to Nunukan, Indonesia.

Sabah National Security Council (NSC) director Sharifah Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said the exercise was made possible with the cooperation of the Indonesian government.

Today’s deportation via sea-route involving Indonesian nationals is also the 19th exercise this year, she said in a statement today.

Also deported today were 11 illegal immigrants from Pakistan, China and Sri Lanka.

This brings to 4,355 people the number of illegal immigrants deported this year, Sharifah added.
