12 People Found With COVID-19 Antibodies In Latest Brunei Survey

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 28 (NNN-BB NEWS) – A serology survey conducted this month, at several selected mosques in Brunei, found 12 cases with COVID-19 antibodies, the country’s Ministry of Health said.

According to the ministry, preliminary findings showed that 12 out of 504 participants tested positive for the serology survey. However, all the positive participants, as well as, their family members tested negative on the swab tests and were confirmed to be free from active infection.

Serology survey, also called antibody survey, is aimed to help estimate how many people in the country have been infected with COVID-19.

The first round of serology survey in May found six positive cases out of 527 participants, and all of the six tested negative on the swab tests, indicating that these people may have been infected with the virus but they did not have an active infection.

The health ministry said that the public do not need to be concerned about anyone who is positive in the serology survey.

Brunei reported no new cases on Saturday, with the national tally standing at 141, marking the 51st consecutive day without new cases.

No active cases are being treated at hospital and a total of 138 patients have recovered. The country has so far reported three deaths resulted from COVID-19.– NNN-BB NEWS
