Brunei Health Ministry Receives Contributions To Combat COVID-19

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Apr 7 (NNN-BBNEWS) – Brunei Shell Petroleum Company (BSP) and Brunei Shell Marketing Company (BSM) handed over contributions to the Ministry of Health (MoH), as part of the COVID-19 relief efforts, at MoH’s Al-‘Afiah Hall yesterday.

The contribution of fuel vouchers for the Medical Emergency/Critical vehicles, services under the MoH were presented to Minister of Health, Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar by Managing Director of BSM, Muhammad Norshafiee bin Haji Abdul Jalil and Managing Director of BSP, Dr Ceri M Powell.

“I am extremely proud of BSM staff for raising money internally, for this unique initiative, to provide fuel for healthcare workers on the front-lines of the COVID-19 outbreak. While we provide fuel for the nation, the healthcare workers are working extremely hard in protecting and guiding us through this pandemic,” said Muhammad Norshafiee.

Dr Ceri M Powell also presented BSP staff’s donation to purchase hospital beds, for the newly built National Isolation Centre in Tutong.

BSP launched the #100beds campaign and through its #BSPCares initiative, raised donations worth 110 beds, exceeding its 100 beds target. “We launched the #100beds campaign on Mar 31, and surpassed the 100 beds target within 24 hours,” said Dr Powell. She also said BSJV companies: BSP, BSM, Brunei LNG and Brunei Gas Carriers support the MoH to combat the outbreak.

Meanwhile, BSM under its #BSMCares campaign also presented donations from BSM staff, comprising scrubs, whiteboards, shampoo, anti-bacterial soaps and hand sanitisers to support the front liners.– NNN-BBNEWS
