Bahrain’s Interior Ministry Calls For Full Compliance With Measures To Combat COVID-19

MANAMA, Mar 25 (NNN-BNA) – The Ministry of Interior announced several guidelines, as part of precautionary measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

The measures are in line with the decision of the Executive Committee, chaired by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

Leaving home should be only to go to work or hospitals or buy medicines and other essential requirements, the ministry said.

Athletic exercises in public areas should be practised individually, or by a maximum of two individuals, while keeping the social distance. Children must not be taken along.

No more than five individuals are allowed to gather or sit in front of homes and roads, and gatherings at parks and beaches are prohibited.

Commitment to precautionary measures during family and social meetings, including weddings and funerals, should be honoured and the attendance of burial rituals is limited to relatives.

People must respect the social distance in queues and must keep a distance of no less than one metre at shopping centres, public services areas and transportation points for workers.

People are encouraged to benefit from home delivery services to get their groceries and other needs.

In its statement, the Interior Ministry reiterated its dedication to protecting the safety of citizens and residents. It stressed that safety could be achieved through the cooperation of all and their commitment to following instructions.

The ministry added, it is confident that the people understand that their commitment to the safety rules will contribute to the success of the state’s efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.– NNN-BNA
