COVID-19: 392 curfew violators arrested in Jordan

AMMAN, March 22 (NNN-PETRA) — Police and security patrols deployed across the Kingdom to enforce a nationwide curfew on Saturday arrested 392 people who violated the stay-at-home order that went into effect earlier in the morning to stem the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, reported Jordan news agency, Petra.

The Public Security Department’s media spokesman said that the arrests had been made until 03:00 pm since the order took force at 07:00 am, and that the violators were referred to the competent security authorities to take due legal action against them.

The spokesman vowed in a statement that there will be zero tolerance in implementing the Defence Order, and that all those in violation will be arrested and legal action will be taken against them, urging the public not to leave their homes “under any circumstance.”
