Bahrain King Patronises Joint Tactical Drill

MANAMA, Mar 17 (NNN-BNA) – King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, patronised the tactical drill, Shield of the Nation 2020, conducted by Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), with live ammunition.

Upon arrival, the King was welcomed by the BDF Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, National Guard Commander, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, National Security and Royal Guard Commander, Major-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Chief of Staff, Dhiyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi.

King Hamad was accompanied by Royal Court Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Royal Guard Special Force Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

After some holy Quran verses were recited, the King was briefed about the tactical drill’s details, stages and goals.

Once King Hamad ordered the start of the exercise, the joint forces carried out the tasks assigned to them with outstanding skill, hitting the determined targets accurately, and according to the preset plans.

The King, who is also the Supreme Commander, expressed pride in the comprehensive tactical drill, stressing that it reflects the brave BDF personnels’ professional level and high morale, as well as, the participants’ accuracy, proficiency and harmony.

King Hamad indicated that the participants proved their high professional level while managing the battle, valuing highly the efforts exerted by those in charge of the joint tactical drill to prepare well for it and execute it successfully, stressing the importance of the continuity of such joint exercises to improve the servicemen’s competence and combat skills.

Defence Affairs Minister, Lieutenant-General Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Nuaimi, and a number of senior BDF officers also attended the joint drill.– NNN-BNA
