Thailand Reports 30 New COVID-19 Cases, Health Ministry Warns Of Mass Contagion

BANGKOK, Mar 17 (NNN-TNA) – Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, today warned of mass COVID-19 contagion, with 30 new cases, raising the total cases in the country to 177.

The ministry said, 11 of the new confirmed cases were related to a group of boxing fans, who earlier tested positive for COVID-19, after being at the Lumpini boxing stadium.

There are another 22 suspected cases pending test results.

The ministry warned, there may be more infections, between 30 and 50 cases each day, during Apr.

Meanwhile, Sukhum Kanchanapimai, permanent secretary for the Ministry of Public Health, said that, most of the new cases are found in Bangkok, so the ministry arranged hospitals in the surrounding areas of the capital to treat them.

Now, 234 hospital beds are ready to admit the patients, Sukhum said.– NNN-TNA
