Iran’s Int’l Mehrabad Airport Cuts 80 Percent Of Flights Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

TEHRAN, Mar 17 (NNN-IRNA) – Tehran International Mehrabad Airport, cut 80 percent of its flights, in line with the World Health Organisation’s instructions, to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ebrahim Moradi, an aviation official at Mehrabad airport, said that, efforts are underway to disinfect all equipment and installations at the airport.

All terminals at the airport have been equipped with thermal imaging system, to trace the infections, Moradi was quoted as saying.

Mehrabad airport, located in the southwest of the capital Tehran, is mainly used for domestic flights.

A total of 14,991 people have been infected with COVID-19, of whom 853 have died, said Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education, on Monday (yesterday).– NNN-IRNA
