Work on rail alignment in Negeri Sembilan for ECRL expected to take off in Q3

SEREMBAN, Jan 31 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The construction of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project for the proposed 58.87 kilometres (km) alignment in Negeri Sembilan will commence in the third quarter of this year, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

He said the rail alignment will involve two stations, namely, the Klawang Station in Jelebu and the Nilai Station in Nilai.

“We will begin work on government land first and as for private land, we have to wait until the land acquisition process is completed.

“So I urge the public to go and see the ECRL roadshow at their respective district and land offices, to know the alignments and the impact on land involved. Any feedback or objection can be forwarded to us,” he told reporters after visiting the ECRL roadshow at the Seremban district and land office here today.

The public will have until April 14 to view the proposed ECRL plan in the state.

Loke said the Klawang Station will be built near the main road in front of the Klawang Vocational College while the Nilai Station will be constructed near the Arab Malaysian Industrial Park.

He said the Nilai Station, an integrated station, would be connected to the new KTM commuter station.

The ECRL project involved three sections, namely, Section A of the Kota Bharu-Mentakab 410 km alignment, Section B (Dungun-Mentakab 265 km alignment) and Section C (Mentakab-Port Klang 165 km alignment).
