Germany Provides Financial Support To Jordan On Technical Education

AMMAN, Nov 25 (NNN-PETRA) – Germany will provide 20 million euros (22 million U.S. dollars), to finance the first phase of a programme on promoting technical and vocational education in Jordan, said an agreement signed by the two sides on Sunday.

The agreement entails building, equipping and furnishing a college for technical training, in an Amman-based university, according to a statement by the planning ministry.

The project, to be executed and managed by the university, seeks to develop high quality and professionally accredited vocational education and training programmes, aligned with the need of the labour market, according to a ministry’s statement.

Two vocational training centres of the Vocational Training Corporation in Irbid, northern region, will be managed by the university, to improve the corporation’s programmes, through a comprehensive rehabilitation of the infrastructure.

The programme will cover more vocational training institutes across the kingdom, the statement said.– NNN-PETRA
