GCC Power Conference And Exhibition 2019 Kicks Off In Oman

MUSCAT, Oct 28 (NNN-ONA) – Deliberations of the GCC Power 2019 Conference and Exhibition, kicked off at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, under the patronage of Eng. Salim bin Nasser al-Aufi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

The three-day conference discusses more than 70 papers and showcases more than 50 posters on electricity transmission and interconnection, renewable energy developments and solutions in the GCC countries.

The conference aims at developing the electricity industry by presenting the latest international experiences and techniques, that will develop and exchange experiences and information in the field of production, transmission and distribution of electric power, among specialists in the GCC countries.

Eng. al-Aufi highlighted in his speech at the opening ceremony, the necessity of building integral and cooperative efforts among the GCC countries, in electricity sector to fulfil the increasing requirements and demand on power.

On his part, Dr. Mohammed bin Falah al-Rashidi, GCC Director of Electricity and Water Department, said, “The GCC has made great leap forward in supporting cooperation in electricity, through adopting a number of policies and programmes related to electricity industry and by the efforts that are exerted for supporting achieving development in the electricity sector, for more progress and development for GCC.

Themed “Energy Transmission in the GCC” the main panel discussion addressed the methods and means of supporting energy transmission in all stages, until the end-user, and the challenges facing upgrading electricity efficiency, in addition to the latest developments around the world in electricity equipment and technologies.– NNN-ONA
