Two Traffic Accidents Occurred At The Same Highway In Myanmar, Leaving Five Dead

YANGON, Oct 24 (NNN-MNA) – Four people, including two children, were killed on Thursday, with five others injured, in a car crash on Myanmar’s highway, said a release from the Office of the Highway Police.

Losing control while taking a turn, a car carrying 11 passengers crashed into the highway guardrails and overturned at the milepost 20/4-20/5 on the Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon highway, at 06:30 a.m. local time.

Also, another highway accident took place due to the sleep-deprived driving on the same highway, as a light truck carrying 14 people on board crashed into the road barriers when its driver went drowsy while driving, at 8:00 a.m. local time.

The accident killed the truck driver and injured 12 people, the release said.

Human errors such as overspeeding, negligent driving and drowsy driving and others — defective vehicles and severe weather are mostly responsible for the deadly motor vehicle accidents on Myanmar’s highway.– NNN-MNA
