Pro-Gov’t Yemeni Forces Achieve Progress In Fighting Against Houthis In Dhalea

ADEN, Oct 9 (NNN-SABA) – Forces loyal to Yemen’s government, achieved progress in fighting against the Houthi rebels in the southern province of Dhalea.

“Several military sites located in the northern parts of Dhalea, near the central province of Ibb, were seized by pro-government forces, after hours of fighting,” the government source said.

The Houthi rebels were pushed back to their stronghold in Ibb province, after losing the battle with pro-government forces in Dhalea outskirts.

Five pro-government soldiers were killed and 15 others injured, during the battle with the Houthis, he added.

Medical sources confirmed that, around 11 Houthi rebels were killed during the fighting.

A media centre, said that, “fighting against Houthis will continue during the upcoming days, deep inside the Houthi-controlled areas in neighbouring Ibb province.”

In Apr, the Houthi fighters launched a series of intense armed attacks on the positions of Yemeni government forces and succeeded in seizing the district of Al Husha.

The areas in the north and west of Dhalea, 138 km north of Aden, have been witnessing non-stop fighting between government forces and Houthi fighters.– NNN-SABA
