Vietnam’s Retail Sales, Service Revenues Up 11.6 Percent In Nine Months

HANOI, Oct 7 (NNN-VNA) – Vietnam’s total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues, rose 11.6 percent year-on-year, between Jan and Sept, to roughly 3,635 trillion Vietnamese dong (158 billion U.S. dollars), according to the country’s General Statistics Office.

Specifically, Vietnam’s goods retail sales stood at over 2,762 trillion Vietnamese dong (120.1 billion U.S. dollars), up 12.6 percent, with sales of food and foodstuffs growing 15.4 percent, home appliances growing 13 percent, garments growing 12 percent, and vehicles growing 10.2 percent.

In the nine-month period, restaurant and accommodation revenues reached 434.7 trillion Vietnamese dong (18.9 billion U.S. dollars), up 9.6 percent, and tourism revenues stood at 33.5 trillion Vietnamese dong (nearly 1.5 billion U.S. dollars), up 12 percent, the office said.

In 2018, Vietnam’s total goods retail sales and consumer service revenues rose 11.7 percent, year-on-year, to nearly 4,396 trillion Vietnamese dong (191.1 billion U.S. dollars). Specifically, its goods retail sales surged 12.4 percent to over 3,306 trillion Vietnamese dong (143.7 billion U.S. dollars).– NNN-VNA
