Syrian Army Finds U.S., Israeli-Made Weapons In Southern Region

DAMASCUS, Sept 26 (NNN-SANA) – The Syrian army, on Wednesday, confiscated a “large amount” of weapons and ammunition, some of which are U.S. and Israeli-made, in the southern region.

The seized weapons, found in secret caches, included machine-guns of various types and sizes, sniper rifles, U.S.-made rifles, as well as, Israeli-made communication devices and night-vision binoculars.

The confiscated weapons also included Grad rockets, rocket propelled grenade, various types of artillery shells, hand grenades, and as many as 200,000 rounds.

Daraa province in southern Syria, holds a big significance, as it was the birthplace of the eight-year war in Syria, and the army is still finding weapons in that area, as part of a big combing campaign that followed the liberation of Daraa in 2018.– NNN-SANA
