The 2019 Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival And The First China Meizhou International Elite Summit Of Tea Industry Held In Meizhou, Guangdong

MEIZHOU, China, Sept 24 (Bernama-AsiaNet) — On September 23, China celebrates not just the autumnal equinox, the 16th of China’s 24 solar terms, but also its state-level “Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival”. At this festive moment, Meizhou, a prefecture-level city of southern China’s Guangdong Province, shows the country the great harvest in fall and promotes its signature tea products worldwide. The 2019 Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival and the First China Meizhou International Elite Summit of Tea Industry are held in the capital of Hakkas in the world from September 22 through 24. As one of China’s 70 most featured harvest celebrations in rural areas in 2019, the event serves as an important parallel session of Guangdong to celebrate the fest for farmers.

The event is designed to celebrate the harvest, promote local culture and revitalize countryside. Themed “Capital of Hakkas in the World Celebrates the Harvest and Outstanding Jiaying Tea Enjoys Nationwide Reputation”, according to the Publicity Department of the CPC Meizhou Municipal Committee, the event promoted a host of agricultural products ranging from Meizhou pomelo and rice to Jiaying tea in the forms of dancing, singing, presentation of intangible heritage, labor techniques in the fields and sitcom.
