ANKARA, Sept 24 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkey’s capital, Ankara’s landmark edifice, Atakule, was illuminated in red and yellow, the colours of China’s national flag, on Monday evening, to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The main body of the Atakule, one of the significant symbols of Ankara, with its 125-m sightseeing tower, turned red, while its rotating platform turned yellow, to mark the occasion.

“We celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China,” read a digital banner on the platform, in Chinese and Turkish.

Atakule celebrated recently, the Mid-Autumn Festival, with hundreds of visitors, who had the pleasure of discovering traditional Chinese folk art, presented by Chinese artistes such as music, dough modelling and sugar painting.

According to organisers, visitors also watched an interesting mask change dance.– NNN-ANADOLU
