Two Pakistani Soldiers Killed In NW Pakistan’s Bomb Explosion

ISLAMABAD, Sept 21 (NNN-APP) – Two Pakistani security personnel were killed in an explosion of an improvised explosive device, in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal district of Mohmand, director-general of the Pakistani army’s media wing said.

An officer and a soldier, with their squad, were on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, off the Mohmand district, when they were hit by the explosives, planted by people from across the border, the director-general, Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor said.

The slain officer was supervising the fencing work, which was on a critical border infiltration route between the two countries.

Earlier, talking to media, Ghafoor said that, a major decline in the number of cross-border attacks and other terrorist activities along border areas have been witnessed, after the fencing, and a further improvement is expected after the completion of the fencing.– NNN-APP
