Iran Confirms Three Australians Arrested For “Spying” Charges

TEHRAN, Sept 18 (NNN-TASNIM) – Iran’s judiciary, on Tuesday, confirmed detention of three Australians on suspicion of “spying.”

Two of the Australians have been detained, while using a drone to take pictures and video of military areas, Judiciary Spokesman, Gholamhossein Esmaili was quoted as saying.

The other Australian was arrested for spying for another country, Esmaili said, adding that, the two cases are ready to be sent to the court.

He did not elaborate further on the time of arrest and names of the detainees.
