Iran’s President To Visit Turkey Regarding Syria Meeting

TEHRAN, Sept 14 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, will travel to Turkey to attend a trilateral meeting on Syria, tomorrow (Sunday).

In the meeting, Rouhani and his Russian and Turkish counterparts will discuss the current situation in Syria, as well as, the prospect of their cooperation on international issues, Parviz Esmaili, Iranian presidential office director for communications and information said.

Rouhani’s visit will be at the official invitation of Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Esmaili said.

Iran, Turkey and Russia, as well as, representatives of the Syrian government and the opposition, held several rounds of talks on the peace process in the Arab country.

The process towards a peaceful settlement in Syria, also known as the Astana process, was launched in Jan, 2017, by Russia, Iran and Turkey, in Astana, Kazakhstan, to bring warring parties in the Syrian conflict to the table, to find a political solution to the crisis.– NNN-IRNA
