ADB To Provide Around Five Billion USD To Bangladesh Over Next Three Years

DHAKA, Sept 14 (NNN-BSS) – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) said, it will provide about five billion U.S. dollars loan to Bangladesh, over the next three years.

ADB Country Director for Bangladesh, Manmohan Parkash, met with Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, at the parliament office and appraised her about ADB’s enhanced development programmes for Bangladesh, said the Manila-based lender, in a statement on Friday.

It said, Parkash handed over to Hasina, ADB’s new Country Operations Business Plan (COBP) for 2020-2022, which finances around five billion U.S. dollars in firm projects, said the bank.

According to the statement, Hasina appreciated ADB’s assistance and highlighted her government’s priorities for infrastructure and human capital development, science and technology research, rural and agricultural development and private sector promotion.

Complimenting Hasina on strong economic performance, Parkash said, the new COBP is consistent with government priorities and a pathway to prosperity. He reaffirmed ADB’s continued assistance to further strengthen its partnership, to promote rapid, inclusive and sustainable growth in Bangladesh.– NNN-BSS
